On August 27, 2025, Future Forum director Ou Virak commented to Deutsche Welle (DW) on the dispute between Thailand and Cambodia over alleged new landmine placements. He stated that Cambodia's government rejects Thailand's claim that new landmines are being planted along the border. Virak noted that the majority of Cambodians believe and support their government's stance on this matter. He emphasized that the public is not questioning the official narrative, and the issue is unlikely to impact the country unless it leads to renewed fighting between the two nations.
