Thailand and Cambodia agree to ceasefire after deadly border clashes

On July 28, 2025, in an interview with The Washington Post, Ou Virak, founder and president of Future Forum, commented on the recent ceasefire between Thailand and Cambodia. He emphasized that while a ceasefire can be quickly achieved, true peace is a long-term process. "The whole border region is always going to be volatile, and to secure something long term, it will take a long time," Virak said, highlighting that the key question is whether the ceasefire will hold.
