Future Forum is now accepting applications for the Inclusive Policy Fellowship 2025


Inclusive Policy Fellowship (IPF) is designed to enhance the capacity of emerging researchers and marginalized leaders in policy research to become advanced analytical thinkers and policy analysts and to advocate for evidence-based inclusive policies that promote equity and sustainable development in Cambodia. Future Forum invites all emerging researchers and leaders from diverse backgrounds to apply for this fellowship. This 12-month first cohort of the program empowers 20-25 participants serving as Junior Research Fellows and Research fellows to apply an inclusive lens to approach tangible policy topics, analyze complex policy challenges, generate actionable policy recommendations, and engage in critical policy debate through multiple platforms to amplify their impact on inclusive policy changes. Each fellow is expected to undertake independent policy research and produce one policy snapshot or commentary on specific areas every two months.

Duties


  • Participation in a one-day program kickoff to engage in the exciting orientation of the fellowship. Attendance in person is required; all expenses including meals, transportation and accommodation (if any) will be covered;

  • Attendance in the Monthly Refresher Trainings and Research HelpDesk office hours on 1) Policy Process, Strategic Foresight, and System Thinking, 2) Inclusive Research Methods and Data Visualization, and 3) Policy Communication and Advocacy;

  • Attendance in the bi-weekly designated editorial meetings for ideation and topic formulation;

  • Active participation in community events, including research colloquium, researcher networking event, film screening, public lectures, and policy walk activities. 

  • High commitment to producing at least one Policy Snapshot or one Commentary every two months (written in English) with the supports from the Future Forum's editorial teams;

  • Satisfactory completion of the required written reflections and other program assignments;

  • Development of an independent policy research project (policy snapshot and commentary) based on an area of interest (written in English). 


Eligibility Criteria:


  • A  young researcher or junior to mid-career professional holding a minimum of Bachelor's degree in the field of public administration, political science, international relations, education, economics, law, public health, environment, sociology, social works, or other related social science disciplines. Master's students or degree holders are also eligible; 

  • A strong interest in policy research; a previous publication and research background in either qualitative, quantitative, and/or mixed method is a bonus; 

  • Proficiency in English (working levels of writing, reading, listening and speaking skills); 

  • Be a Cambodian citizen between the ages of 22 and 35; 

  • High commitment to completing a one-year program and producing a minimum of one policy snapshot or one commentary every two months with the Future Forum; 

  • We strongly encourage applications from women, indigenous people, members of the LGBT+ community, people with disabilities, and those from ethnic minority and under-represented communities.


Selection Process: 


  • All interested candidates are required to submit an online application form before the deadline.

  • The selected candidates will be notified of fellowship offer before the end of April 2025. The program will commence in May 2025 with a one-day program kick-off orientation.
