Economic Policy Night & Policy Forum: “Does Cambodia Need New Growth Models?”

Welcome to the Economic Policy Night & Policy Forum!

As Cambodia approaches its 2029 graduation from Least Developed Country status, discussions around the future of its economic model are taking center stage. While an open, export-led strategy has driven growth through garments, footwear, and travel goods, the upcoming loss of trade preferences and shifting global trade dynamics raise critical questions about how the nation can sustain its momentum.

Recent debates on industrial policy, specifically whether to offer targeted support to selected sectors or invest in broader structural reforms, transparency, and the rule of law, provide a timely opportunity to evaluate the direction of Cambodia's economy.

This Policy Networking Night brings together policymakers, economists, business leaders, and development practitioners to exchange perspectives on how Cambodia can strengthen credibility, build institutional resilience, and navigate its next phase of sustainable growth.
