Sothiny is from Battambang province. She is currently a Future Forum’s Young Research Fellow. She graduated from the University of Cambodia, majoring in International Relations. During her academic year in college, she volunteered with a number of NGOs working on youth and women engagement and empowerment, strengthening knowledge sector in Cambodia, conflict transformation, and peace building. Recently, she has been working with a local organization working on women and youth empowerment, peace building, and conflict transformation. Her research interests involve with human rights, particularly women rights, gender equality, social inclusion, education and youth empowerment, and social economic development.
