Community of Researchers

Overview

The Community of Researchers Program (CoR) is the element of Future Forum that deals with external engagement, bringing together groups of aligned people. It was created to formalise the continued establishment of a community of researchers in Cambodia (and beyond), who focus on a wide range of research topics and public policy issues. The CoR is a network of both internal and external researchers who engage in opportunities to network and work in collaboration with other members of the community.

Research Hub

An open co-working space designed for the CoR providing them with space and opportunity to undertake their own research and/or Future Forum related output and activities. The Research Hub is well equipped with chromebooks, each holding subscriptions to many popular and relevant publications; a large TV with subscriptions to Netflix, Curiosity Stream, Masterclass; hot desks to research comfortably; and access to the Futrure Forum Public Policy Library.

Library

Future Forum has recently established a library to support researchers in Cambodia in getting better access to research materials within a physical space. The library is now equipped with access to printed books and reports, and has terminals with research tools such as Stata, e-books, academic journals, and periodicals, along with subscription to extensive electronic resources to facilitate public policy research and analysis. The area has been designed to facilitate learning in a comfortable, relaxed, and peaceful environment.

Events

Future Forum believes nurturing a rich network of local and international researchers is imperative to improving the research environment and interest in Cambodia. Various networking events and publication launch events are held throughout the year. over this year (2020), Future Forum will continue to build out both the number and type of events held, as we have found these to be critical in identifying collaboration opportunities, and gaining the deserved platform for our output.
