Through our Civic Education project, we develop new and exciting ways to involve the Cambodian public in issues related to politics and policy in Cambodia. We will be developing videos aimed at a youth audience in the months leading up to the 2017 local elections and the 2018 national elections, as well as introductory materials related to Cambodian government and politics.
In early 2017, Future Forum will begin developing introductory materials related to Cambodian politics and government. We have found that although many NGOs and research institutes have published information related to these topics, no resource exists that is comprehensive and that covers the spectrum of the Cambodian political system, the institutions that form the Cambodian government and the legal framework of the system. As such, we seek to produce such a resource, which will serve as a comprehensive introduction, aimed at lay audiences. The final product will be available as an e-book, as well as in hard copies for those in Cambodia, to ensure that it is available to audiences both abroad and presently in Cambodia.
With important commune council elections coming up in June 2017 and national elections the following summer, there is a severe lack of information regarding a wide range of election-related topics available to a lay audience. Future Forum seeks to fill that gap, through producing educational videos, aimed primarily at a youth or young audience, to engage them in the political process.
